The school seeks to accomplish the dual role of education to develop an individual and nurture a responsible citizen. We believe that the education they receive is but a process and a portion of the pupils' journey of learning and becoming.
It is not only knowledge and skills that we aim to impart to all our pupils but to imbue in them attitude and passion for learning. And this desire to improve continuously must continue even after they have left school. Learning involves much humility in recognising one's weakness and ignorance and then the courage to seek advice. We want our pupils to be disciplined and tenacious in their pursuit of learning.
Within the school, we want to provide them with an environment for all-rounded development - in the moral, intellectual, physical, social and aesthetics aspects. We are concerned with nurturing a positive work ethos in pupils. We want them to strive for excellence in all that they do and become respectable individuals.
Equally important is our mission of instilling in pupils a sense of national identity and moulding them into responsible citizens. We want them to understand the social context of being a citizen - the roles and responsibilities. Learning from the experiences of our past and understanding from the circumstances of the present, we want to ensure that our pupils become critical determinants in our future.
The foundation of our mission is based on strong moral and social grounding. In particular, we want all our pupils to have compassion and integrity. There is always a need for them to think beyond themselves. The pupils must understand how they can make a difference in the lives of others. We want our pupils to have a compassionate heart for fellow beings, especially those in need. From the inner-self must come forth the guiding principle to do good, to use their skills and knowledge to do what is right under all circumstances.
